Practice, practice, practice.. and hopefully we will get close to perfect!
Sometimes it bothers me that Biology is stated tested only because it sometimes takes away from the amazing journey of learning all about life science and focuses more on how to answer this multiple choice science question. However, with anything in life, you make the best with what you have. Therefore, PRACTICE is our life. We are constantly working through problems and practicing to make sure that by the time the test roles around in May, my students leave that room saying, "Man, that was soooo easy!"
Visual and Creative Learning
No matter what science class I teach, there are always some sort of video, song, chart, word walls, spelling bee, or foldable we are doing to understand the material. After learning about the students learning styles and realizing that they all aren't the same (which is expected), I try to do various types of activities to have everyone engaged in the topics. |
Foldables, Graphic Organizers, Puzzles!
Some of these ideas were inspired from past MTCers, but I love the idea of stepping away from the day-day note taking and use as many guided notes, foldables, organizers, and analogies that I can think of. |
